Buttered Rum smells like a hot buttered rum drink, warm butterscotch and toffee sweetness over creamy melted butter. A rich caramel body runs through it, closer to a butter rum sweet than a straight spirit. Rum sits underneath as a quiet, simmered warmth rather than a sharp alcohol note. A light touch of warm spice, such as nutmeg or clove, sits in the background.

Not an extracted material. It is a compounded accord named after the hot drink of rum, butter, sugar and spice. Vendors build it from butter, brown sugar, butterscotch, toffee and vanilla over a rum accord. Several add clove, cinnamon or nutmeg.

Usage in Perfumery

Used through the whole structure of gourmand and winter perfumes rather than in one layer. It is rare: 29 perfumes on Parfumo, from 2004 to 2024 (checked 2026-10-10).
