Creamy coconut over molasses and caramel, with the spirit still on top. Beach cocktail, not beach.

Scent Profile

Coconut Rum smells tropical first, driven by creamy, milky coconut pulp. Underneath runs a sweet, caramel and molasses warmth from the rum, with the spirit itself still noticeable on top. A faint dried-fruit note, close to cherry, rounds it out. It reads as a beach cocktail rather than the beach itself.

What is ScentArt?

Origin

Not an extracted material and not an aroma chemical. It is two documented accords put together. Parfinity describes the rum side as rich, warm and sweet with molasses, caramel, vanilla and a boozy undertone, made from synthetic compounds rather than alcohol. Bon Parfumeur describes the coconut side as smooth, milky and slightly sweet, like fresh coconut pulp. No supplier we found sells a coconut rum base with its own datasheet.

Usage in Perfumery

Perfumers print it two ways. Lorenzo Pazzaglia's Evil Angel 28.09 lists Coconut and Rum as adjacent notes. Victoria's Secret Cherry Elixir No. 33 lists Coconut rum as one compound note, where it reads as black cherry dipped in rum rather than as a beach. Blndrgrphy's 05 Santal Painkiller pairs it with pineapple, and it reads as a pina colada. So the same term swings between a dark boozy fruit reading and a bright tropical one depending on what sits next to it.
