About
Coral Reef is an abstract marketing accord, not an extracted material. It stands in for the smell of a shallow, sunlit tropical sea. Three unrelated sellers build it the same way, so the convention is stable even though no two formulas match.
Scent Profile
Aquatic ozonic dominates: open water and sea spray, transparent rather than briny. Citrus comes in almost as strongly on top, and all three sources build it the same way from yuzu, lemon, mandarin and grapefruit. Clean musk carries the base, described as a smooth or breezy finish. Tropical fruit sits in the upper heart from pineapple, passionfruit and papaya. A thin floral heart follows, water lily, lotus and lily, airy rather than indolic. Dry woody appears at the base as driftwood and sun-bleached timber. A mineral facet runs through from the sea spray and sea water accords. Under those, small amounts of green from lemongrass and bamboo, a light white floral, and a faint fruity sweetness.

Origin
Constructed, and proprietary in every instance found. The three sources are two fragrance-oil suppliers and one niche brand, all downstream of whoever first composed it. No manufacturer olfactive description for a coral reef base was found. Nothing in any source claims that coral itself has a smell; the word is doing atmospheric work.
Usage in Perfumery
Used whole as a heart accord in tropical and coastal compositions, and heavily in candles, melts and reed diffusers. It carries a fragrance's coastal reading on its own, so perfumers pair it with citrus above and driftwood or musk below rather than with other aquatics.
