Thalassogaia is a Givaudan technology, not a single material. It is a collection of accords built from ScentTrek headspace captures taken at the beach, made to mimic the composition of the marine environment.
Scent Profile
Thalassogaia is built to mimic the marine environment of a beach. It reads as a faint aquatic, ozonic presence with a mineral coolness behind it, and a soft, clean musk underneath.

Origin
Givaudan, launched 2021 alongside PhytoGaia. Company scientists ran ScentTrek headspace analyses at the coast and used the results to build a family of marine accords. Givaudan says the collection can be used across all fragrance categories, from air care to personal care. Perfumers receive accords under this name rather than one fixed formula.
Usage in Perfumery
A marine base for functional and fine fragrance alike. Because it is a collection rather than one material, two fragrances listing Thalassogaia need not smell alike. Treat a listing as a claim of marine character, not of a specific odour.
