Floralozone is an IFF aroma molecule, CAS 67634-15-5. It smells of clean sea air with a light floral lift behind it. Its job in a formula is diffusion: IFF's own datasheet says it "gives lift to fragrances without dominating due to its neutral nature".

Scent Profile

Aquatic_ozonic is the one fact every source states in nearly the same words. IFF: "powerful, clean, green and fresh air tone reminiscent of ocean breezes". Fraterworks: "an effusion of ozonic freshness and salt-rich sea air". Aldehydic comes from Perfumer's Apprentice filing it as "Floral, Aldehydic, Fresh", and the material is an aldehyde, so the descriptor and the chemistry agree. Floral and white_floral are the undertone all three sources report but none of them make loud: Perfumer's Apprentice puts it in "Fragrance Family: Floral", Fraterworks reports "subtle floral-jasmine undertones" and a synergy with muguet bases. The split between the two floral facets is a judgement, because jasmine and muguet pull towards white_floral while the retailer's family label is the general one. Green is IFF's own word, "clean, green and fresh air". Mineral is the salt in "salt-rich sea air", scored below calone's 0.45 and cascalone's 0.55 because only one of the three sources says salt. Clean_musk sits, deliberately low: "clean" in these sources means clean air, not laundry musk, and reading it as musk would be putting a facet in that nobody claimed.

Origin

Synthetic, made by IFF and sold under that trade name. It is an aromatic aldehyde and is listed as "ultimately biodegradable, stabilizer-free". It appears in the perfume data as a supplier material under CAS 67634-15-5 with no published note claiming it until now.

Usage in Perfumery

A nuancer for marine and fresh-air accords, and for green and muguet-type florals. Fraterworks names its working partners: "Helional, Hydroxycitronellal, and Calone", plus "Celestafleur and floral bases, particularly Muguet". Overdose is the known failure - "can make a fragrance feel sharp or synthetic".
