Fresh laundry is a fantasy accord for the smell of washed and dried clothes. Two ingredient families carry it: aldehydes for the soapy washing-powder brightness, and white musks for the soft warmth that lasts. Light florals and a green top round it out. Perfumers use it to make a fragrance read as clean rather than as perfumed.

Clean_musk leads, and two of the three sources put it first and name it outright - Valley Fragrances calls the accord 'clean musks + iso-E-super + light florals' and Snif ties the same musks back to detergent. Aldehydic is the soapy washing-powder lift; Alpha Aromatics calls it the identifying ingredient, 'a clean, soapy quality, reminiscent of freshly washed clothes'. Under those two sit a powdery softness, a green fresh-cut-grass and violet-leaf top, a light jasmine white floral with lavender behind it, and the smooth velvety woodiness of the iso E Super the accord is built on. A little air and wet mineral coldness at the edge, from the one source that describes it as 'billowing in the breeze'.

Origin

Reconstructed, with no natural referent at all. The musk choice is borrowed from detergent, not from perfumery: Snif states that white musks 'were originally used in detergents, which explains why they're often used in perfumery to create the laundry effect'. Valley Fragrances publishes the build as 'clean musks + iso-E-super + light florals'. Alpha Aromatics names aldehydes as the identifying ingredient, plus jasmine or lavender for the floral accent and fresh-cut grass or violet leaf for the green.

Usage in Perfumery

A modern functional-clean accord. It carries the whole composition in shower-fresh and skin-scent fragrances and it is a base and heart material, not a top note, because the musks are what remains. Attested in 7 Parfumo placements across 6 brands and absent from Fragrantica, which fits a term used by niche houses rather than a mainstream note list.
