Lavender grown in Italy, sold as the smooth one. Herbal and hay-sweet, with the camphor edge of the French and English oils taken out.
Scent Profile
Italian Lavender smells herbal first, more herb-like than floral, smooth rather than sharp. A hay and coumarin sweetness runs underneath, rich and deep rather than sugary. It has a creamy, powdery softness, with a light woody nuance alongside the herb. The camphor edge that French and English lavenders carry is largely missing here.

Origin
Lavandula angustifolia distilled in Tuscany, sold by Hermitage Oils as an organic specialty lavender. A second Italian material trades under overlapping names: Nature's Gift sells an Italian Lavandula x intermedia its grower calls Lavandin Grosso, and lists it under Italian lavender too. So the commercial term covers at least two botanicals.
