Mead
Note Profile
About
A glass of mead, also called honey wine, beside a jar of honey.
Scent Profile
Mead smells of honey and wine together. Soft golden honey meets a clean alcohol warmth, with ripe fruit like a dry white wine. A light floral sweetness and a faint clove spice run through it, over a waxy, beeswax trace and a slightly tart, bready edge.

Origin
Made by fermenting honey. It may be dry or sweet, and is sometimes flavoured with fruit or spice. In perfume it is an accord built from honey, wine and fermentation notes.
Usage in Perfumery
One natural perfume house pairs a mead accord with propolis, molasses, soaked flowers, tart fruits and oak barrel woods. No wider perfumery use was found.
