Scent Profile
Green above everything and by a wide margin: crushed leaf between the fingers, clean and waxy, with a slightly bitter edge. All three sources lead with it. A fruity whisper sits behind, and every source that names it also says what it is not, so this is nothing like the juice of the fruit. An aquatic_ozonic thinness runs through the whole thing, described separately as watery, dewy and a breath of clean air, which is the quality that keeps the green light instead of dank. Under those, a waxy aldehydic surface, a faint sour bite from the bitterness, and a light sweetness that no source calls sugary.

Origin
The leaf of the pear tree, Pyrus communis. Pear leaf absolute is not extracted at commercial scale, so what perfumers buy under this name is an accord built to the impression rather than a single distilled material. None of the sources consulted names a supplier material or a CAS number. Treat this as a reconstruction that the trade agrees on, not as a botanical extract.
Usage in Perfumery
A top note. It is used to put a green, non-sugary edge on fruit accords, most often over pear itself, where it stops the fruit reading as candy. Fragrantica files it under greens, herbs and fougeres and calls it mild, which matches the low usage rate: 26 mentions there and 13 on Parfumo across 11 brands. It is a corrective, not a subject.
