A dessert reading of pineapple: the fruit rounded out with dairy. Parfumo files the term under Creamy notes as well as Fruity notes and Pineapple, and plain Pineapple does not carry that Creamy tag. The name is a construction rather than a raw material, so the character is the fruit's tropical, sweet-tart body carried on a lactonic, custard-adjacent base that blunts the sharp edge of the fresh fruit.

Scent Profile

Lactonic leads. It is the one thing the term's own source asserts: Parfumo tags it Creamy notes, and plain Pineapple is not tagged that way. Tropical and fruity sit just below, both pulled down a little from the parent Pineapple's 0.75 and 0.60 because cream is being added to the fruit, not the other way round. Sweet_vanillic covers the sugar and the vanilla that a cream accord needs, and matches CA Perfume's report that pineapple itself can turn to a 'creamy, caramelic sweetness'. Below: sulphurous and green are the parent fruit's own tropical bite, kept but muffled; creamy_woody for the coconut-cream direction the bridging lactones bring; powdery, sour, nutty and clean_musk are the soft dairy edges.

Origin

Not a natural extract. It is an accord, built the way perfumers build any fruit-and-cream effect: pineapple esters over lactones and vanillin. Delta-dodecalactone is one of the usual materials for the job. Its supplier describes it as 'peachy, milky, coconut-like' and says it 'plays a key bridging role between fruity and creamy facets', and lists it in a named 'Tropical Milkshake' formula built on 15% Pineapple Base and 10% Mango Base. That is how the effect is made in general, not a description of this particular listed note.

Usage in Perfumery

Rare and recent. Parfumo records 3 perfumes, first in 2022 and last in 2023, against 5,061 for plain Pineapple. Parfumo reports that it 'often occurs throughout the entire fragrance' rather than sitting only in the opening, which is what you expect of a fruit note weighted down with lactones.
