About
Prosecco is a constructed sparkling-wine accord. It reads drier, fruitier and less toasty than the champagne accord it is built against.
Scent Profile
Prosecco leads on ripe fruity flesh, apricot and passion fruit and black currant in the one published formulation, over an aldehydic fizz that carries the bubble. A sharp citrus finish, named as grapefruit, keeps it dry. A low boozy weight sits underneath and says wine rather than juice. Around those are a soft floral and white_floral touch from muguet, a green crispness, a faint tart sour edge and a mineral sparkle that reads as the bead in the glass. It is less sweet than a champagne cocktail accord and lighter and fruitier than champagne itself.

Origin
Not a raw material. No house publishes a captive named prosecco and no natural extract of the wine exists in perfumery. The accord is assembled: aldehydes and fruity lactones supply the fizzy, sparkling sensation, and a fruit and citrus body supplies the rest. Cap Perfume describes the related champagne note the same way, built from wine lees essence plus synthetics rather than from wine.
Usage in Perfumery
A top-to-heart accord for bright, celebratory openings.
