About
Soft, powdery suede
Scent Profile
Saffiano smells of soft, supple suede, velvety rather than sharp. A clear powdery touch runs through the leather and keeps it light. It reads as clean and smooth, with no smoke or tar.

Origin
Saffiano is a captive molecule owned by IFF and used only by its perfumers. IFF has not published its chemical name or CAS number in the sources found. It is a different thing from saffiano leather, the stamped calfskin finish.
Usage in Perfumery
IFF presents it as a suede material that gives the depth and texture of supple leather with a powdery touch. Perfumers would use it to build soft, clean leather and suede accords. No source gives its dose or tenacity.
