Salty skin is a warm skin-musk with sea salt over it. The musk is the body of the note. The salt sits on top as a savoury, faintly bitter mineral tang with a marine coolness behind it. It reads as skin after a day at the sea, not as sea water and not as sweat.

Scent Profile

Clean_musk leads and it is the strongest single claim in the evidence: one product names 'Main Note: Musk' outright, the other builds its salty-skin effect on ambergris, and both describe 'warm skin' rather than an odour of salt on its own. Mineral for the salt itself, which the press source calls a 'fresh, savoury minerality' and the product copy calls 'salty air'. Salty skin is an accord, not a material. No manufacturer publishes an olfactive sheet for it. Every sourced description is a finished perfume built from synthetics: Le Persona's Salty Skin names Musk as its main note over bergamot, caviar, juniper berry, neroli, jasmine sambac, orchid, ambrox super and oakmoss, and Ellis Brooklyn's Salt uses the same 'salty skin' language and leads with a vegan ambergris. The referent_type carried for this slug in the mint queue is 'botanical', which nothing found supports.
