About

Snow is an accord for something that has almost no smell. Snow, like water, is close to odourless. What people call the smell of snow is cold muting other smells, plus the feel of cold air in the nose.

Scent Profile

Snow smells thin and cold rather than of anything in particular, closer to the feel of cold air than to a real scent. A faint ozone freshness sits at the edge, with a clean, metallic mineral note and a transparent, soft musk underneath. A light, soapy sparkle sits on top. Nothing here is green, earthy or warm. Faintness itself is the point.

What is ScentArt?

Origin

No material and no extraction. The accord is built from ozonic and marine molecules such as Calone, cold aldehydes, cooling agents and clean musks. It works as much by what it leaves out as by what it puts in. It leaves out warmth, sweetness and organic matter. Ozone rises before winter storms and smells clean and slightly metallic, like chlorine. That may be the one real smell in the idea.

Usage in Perfumery

Used in winter, minimalist and icy compositions. It pairs with white tea, iris and mineral notes. Parfumo lists 251 perfumes with a snow note on 2026-10-10, and Fragrantica 107. Parfumo places it through the whole fragrance rather than in the top alone.
