The aerosol thrown off when a wave breaks. Ozonic and salty with a fizzing, sparkling lift, and it goes fast. Lighter and airier than sea water, and drier than seaweed.

Scent Profile

Aquatic_ozonic is the core and every source leads with it. Premiere Peau opens with 'Saline, ozonic, effervescent' and names calone as the reference molecule in the build. Mineral is the salt, and it is the second thing both sources reach for: 'mineral spray, dissolved salt', 'A mineral sparkle sits underneath the ozonic top, like licking sea salt off your lip', and independently from a Hermitage Oils reviewer, 'gentle oyster mineralic notes and the freshest sea foam'. Salt has no facet of its own in this vocabulary so mineral stands in, which is an approximation. Aldehydic is the effervescence, and it is the one number that separates this from every published marine note: the source uses 'effervescent' three times and 'Bright ozonic-saline burst', and Helional in the stated build is an aldehyde. Below: fruity for calone's watermelon side, green for 'the faintest trace of marine algae', clean_musk held low on purpose because the source treats soapy-clean as the failure mode, amber_resinous for the optional ambergris tincture, cooling_mentholic, sour for the saline sharpness, and traces of mossy_chypre, tobacco_hay, sulphurous, citrus, tropical and animalic.

Origin

Not a natural extract. Sea foam is a composed accord. Premiere Peau names the build: calone for the ozonic-melon core, Helional for the hay-marine aldehyde, saline modifiers, and sometimes a trace of seaweed absolute or an ambergris tincture for organic and mineral depth. No manufacturer publishes it as a captive or a defined accord under this name.

Usage in Perfumery

6 Fragrantica entries, none on Parfumo. Fragrantica files it under 'Natural and synthetic, popular and weird'. It is used as an opening effect for coastal freshness. The source says the good versions avoid the soapy-clean style of 1990s aquatics and aim for something raw and atmospheric instead.
