Soda bubbles is the carbonation itself, held apart from any drink. It is tart, prickling and clean, more acidic and mineral than sweet, and it lasts only as long as fizz does.

Scent Profile

Sour leads, because the one source specific to this name opens with 'tart' and says the accord is deliberately less sweet than a real soda. Aldehydic and aquatic_ozonic are the construction: prickling aldehydes and ozonic-fresh modifiers are named as the materials that stand in for the physical fizz, and the second source confirms the same method for the wider sparkling accord. Mineral is the acidic, stony side the source names in the same breath as the tartness, and it is what keeps the note from reading as fruit. Citrus is the sharp citric material the accord is built on, held below the flavour notes because here the citrus is a tool for the fizz rather than the subject. Below those, a small pink-pepper prickle as fresh_spice, a cool edge, a light musk cleanness and the faint sweetness the source allows.

Origin

An accord, not a material. There is no soda-bubble oil. Perfumers build the effect from sharp citric materials, prickling aldehydes and ozonic-fresh modifiers, which stimulate the nose the way bursting carbon dioxide does. The tang itself is carbonic acid, picked up by carbonic anhydrase in olfactory neurons rather than by ordinary odour receptors.

Usage in Perfumery

A top-note effect. It opens fresh, sparkling and beverage-inspired compositions and pairs with citrus, mint and clean notes. Niche houses use it to make a soda read as a soda, as in cherry cola and raspberry soda constructions.
