Waffle is a gourmand accord built on the breakfast plate, not the ice-cream cone. Both trade sources make it the same way: butter, maple syrup and a doughy batter base.

Scent Profile

Sweet_vanillic is the syrup and the batter together. Demeter calls its version 'the waffle itself smothered in butter and covered in maple syrup-sweet, but not too sweet', and Save On Scents adds 'the cake batter' to butter and syrup. The 'but not too sweet' is why this rather than higher. Lactonic is the butter, which both sources name first among the toppings, and a customer of the first puts it plainly: 'smells like extra buttery Eggo with syrup'. Honeyed is maple syrup specifically. Maple is a sugar syrup rather than a vanilla or a caramel, so it earns its own facet rather than being folded into sweet_vanillic. Nutty is the toasted batter of a cooked waffle, which is where the grid puts a browned-flour smell. Under the line sit creamy_woody for the baked-crust body and a small warm_spice, since waffle batter commonly carries cinnamon or nutmeg but neither source names one.

A composed accord. No waffle extract exists. Demeter Fragrance Library and Save On Scents both sell it as a standalone fragrance oil and both describe the same three parts.

Usage in Perfumery

Attested on 21 Fragrantica perfumes, grouped under 'Sweets and gourmand smells'. Not tracked on Parfumo. Also common in candle and soap trade ranges, where pumpkin-pecan and blueberry-pecan variants ride fruit or spice over the same buttery-syrup base.
