About

Brownie is a baked-confection accord, not a material. It smells of cocoa first, then a butter, sugar and egg batter, with dark chocolate and vanilla underneath. Some brownie perfumes add a nut, usually hazelnut or walnut, but the nut is never the lead. It sits close to the chocolate-fudge and chocolate-cake notes.

Built, not extracted. There is no brownie material. Perfumers compose it from cocoa, sugar and vanilla, with butter, flour or biscuit for the baked batter. Wicked Good publishes its pyramid. The top is cocoa powder. The heart is butter, sugar, creamy eggs and flour. The base is dark chocolate ganache and vanilla bean. Fragrantica lists Demeter Brownie with Mexican chocolate, cacao, sugar, vanilla, wheat and hazelnut.

Usage in Perfumery
