Aromara Leather Shadow is an Extrait de Parfum. Leather Shadow opens with Bergamot, Cardamom, and Saffron, settles into a heart of Leather, Patchouli, and Jasmine, and dries down to a base of Amber, Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Vanilla. Aromara's Leather Shadow carries an Acquired verdict, a leather-led wear.

Leather Shadow is Aromara's take on Tom Ford Ombre Leather, matching the smooth cardamom-leather-amber signature at a fraction of the near-£295 original. The leather-jasmine core reads true; Tom Ford's suede-like polish is replaced with a slightly rougher, more straightforward leather accord.

About

Leather Shadow is Aromara's version of Tom Ford's Ombre Leather, a contemporary unisex leather fragrance prized for its smooth, suede-like texture rather than the harsher, smokier leathers of decades past. Aromara's take opens with cardamom, bergamot and saffron, moves into a leather accord with jasmine sambac and patchouli through the heart, and closes on amber, sandalwood, vetiver and vanilla. The spiced leather opening is recognisably close to the original, and the warm amber-vetiver base gives it real staying power. Where it differs is in texture - Tom Ford's version has an almost buttery smoothness to its leather accord that comes from expensive base materials, while Leather Shadow's leather reads a touch more raw and rugged by comparison, losing some of the original's polish. It still delivers a confident, cold-weather leather that works well for evening wear and formal occasions without the designer price tag.
