Aromara Royal Oud is an Extrait de Parfum. Royal Oud opens with Rose and Saffron, settles into a heart of Amber, Oud, and Patchouli, and dries down to a base of Musk, Cedar, and Sandalwood. Aromara's Royal Oud carries an Acquired verdict, a woody-led wear.

Royal Oud is Aromara's take on Dior Oud Ispahan, a regal rose-and-oud from the Privé collection - rose and saffron opening into an oud-patchouli-amber heart over sandalwood and cedarwood. Built at 35% Extrait.

About

Royal Oud goes after Dior's Privé collection heavyweight Oud Ispahan, pairing a rose and saffron opening with an oud, patchouli and amber heart that leans deep and resinous rather than sharp or medicinal. The sandalwood, cedarwood and musk base rounds it into something warm and noble rather than aggressive, echoing the original's reputation as an approachable, rose-forward take on oud. It's a more linear build than Dior's version and loses some of the saffron's spice-forward complexity by the drydown, but the rose-oud pairing at the centre is well judged and doesn't tip into the harsh, woody-chemical territory a lot of budget oud dupes fall into. At 35% Extrait it holds its richness for hours rather than thinning out.
