Out of this World

Out of this World is the scent that began AromAtom, the space-themed line of planetary scientist and perfumer Marina Barcenilla. It was launched in October 2018 and nominated for an award. The brand describes it as a fragrant encounter with space, one perfume that travels from Earth to the heart of the Milky Way. It opens on cade, saffron, petitgrain and guaiacwood, and a fragrance guide hears a sweet smokiness that feels enigmatic and mysterious, with raspberry, orange blossom and almond coming through the smoke. The heart holds the smoke accord with orange blossom, bitter almond and davana. The base is raspberry, rum, sandalwood, amber and musk. As it wears, the davana sweetens and the rum returns, until it is hard to tell whether it is a fragrance or a lavish cocktail. Few people have voted.
