Cacharel Gloria is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2002, created by Olivier Cresp. Gloria opens with Hibiscus, Amaretto, Amber, and Rose, settles into a heart of Jasmine, Pepper, and Vanilla, and dries down to a base of Cedar, Tonka Bean, Almond, and Styrax. It lasts about 6 to 10 hours on skin, fills a room and is best in autumn and winter. Cacharel's Gloria carries a Statement verdict, a sweet-led wear.

Gloria is a boozy, sweet gourmand and it wastes no time. Amaretto opens it with a luscious, liqueur-like hit, and rose and hibiscus add a delicate floral sweetness beside it. As it warms, a rich, creamy heart of almond and vanilla emerges, laced with a trace of spicy pepper and jasmine. The drydown is warm and sensual: cherry, cedar, styrax and tonka bean linger long after the opening has faded, leaving a delicious, comforting aroma. It is strong on every count, so it carries and it lasts. Autumn is its season, with a good showing in winter and spring. It is at its best on dates and in the evening, and too heady for a quiet office. Gloria is discontinued, so original bottles are scarce, and fans who miss it have gone looking for alternatives.
