The scent opens with a sharp burst of grapefruit that quickly settles into a spicy, slightly floral heart of ginger, cardamom and orange blossom, the same combination that made D&G's The One for Men distinctive. The base of tobacco, cedar and amber provides a warm, masculine finish that carries the composition through a formal dinner or a night out. It runs a touch simpler and less rich than the original in the drydown, with less of that deep tobacco-amber warmth, but the spicy-woody skeleton is a fair likeness for a fraction of the price. High intensity, impressive longevity for the category.
