Giorgio Beverly Hills Yellow Fine Fragrance Mist is a body spray. Yellow Fine Fragrance Mist opens with Bergamot, Orange Blossom, Peach, and Apricot, settles into a heart of Rose, Jasmine, Tuberose, and Ylang-Ylang, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, Cedar, and Sandalwood. Giorgio Beverly Hills's Yellow Fine Fragrance Mist carries an Acquired verdict, a white floral-led wear.

The 1981 tuberose monster in mist form, and the format suits it. Orange blossom and peach over tuberose, gardenia and jasmine, on oakmoss, sandalwood and amber. Enormous scent, sensible dose.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Fall Winter
Also Works:
Spring

Heavy white florals over oakmoss, patchouli and amber are cold-weather materials that turn suffocating in heat, even at mist strength.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Casual Formal
Also Works:
Office

The mist dose finally makes Giorgio wearable in an office, but the scent itself is formal and evening-minded and never reads as casual background.

About

Giorgio, the yellow-and-white striped one, is one of the loudest fragrances ever sold, and turning it into a body mist is arguably the kindest thing anyone has done for it. The composition is unchanged. Orange blossom, peach and apricot open it with a syrupy fruit sweetness, bergamot giving a brief lift, and then the white florals arrive and take over: tuberose first and loudest, with gardenia, ylang-ylang, jasmine, orchid and rose piled behind it. This is a proper 1980s floral bouquet, creamy and indolic and completely unwilling to be background. The base is where the era really shows, with oakmoss, patchouli, sandalwood, cedar, amber, vanilla and musk giving a mossy, animalic warmth that modern reformulations mostly avoid. In eau de toilette it is famously overwhelming; at mist concentration it becomes something you can actually wear to work, which is a genuinely useful thing. It still lasts better than most mists here because the base materials are heavy. Best in autumn and winter and in the evening, and worth trying if you have always been curious about Giorgio but not curious enough to buy the full-strength version.
