Jubilee Scents CC28 Clive Christian No. 1 is an Eau de Parfum. CC28 Clive Christian No. 1 opens with Caraway, Paprika, Grapefruit, and Mandarin, settles into a heart of Rose, Jasmine, Iris, and Ylang-Ylang, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, Cedar, and Sandalwood. Jubilee Scents's CC28 Clive Christian No. 1 carries a Statement verdict, a woody-led wear.

CC28 gives a fair impression of No. 1's spiced-citrus opening and woody-amber depth, but inevitably loses the ultra-rich, densely-blended luxury the original is famous for, settling for a simpler, more linear woody floral.

About

Clive Christian No. 1 is one of the most expensive perfumes in the world, an opulent spiced citrus opening over a rich iris and ylang-ylang heart, resting on a dense sandalwood, amber and tonka bean base built with an uncompromising concentration of raw materials. CC28 borrows the full note list: cardamom, nutmeg, paprika, lime, mandarin orange, artemisia, grapefruit and caraway up top, iris, ylang-ylang, jasmine, lily of the valley, heliotrope and rose in the heart, sandalwood, amber, musk, vanilla, tonka bean, cedar and vetiver underneath. The spiced-citrus opening is recognisable and reasonably close in the first stretch of wear. What no budget dupe can realistically match is the sheer density and quality of raw materials that justify the original's price, so the woody-floral heart here reads thinner and more one-dimensional, without the plush, layered richness of the real No. 1. An interesting, affordable way to sample the note structure rather than the luxury experience itself.
