La Fann Dark Blue is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2022. Dark Blue opens with Mandarin and Osmanthus, settles into a heart of Immortelle and Saffron, and dries down to a base of Akigalawood and Mineral. La Fann's Dark Blue carries an Acquired verdict, a mineral-led wear.

This one's a proper head-scratcher. La Fann's Dark Blue tries to be everything at once: fresh, mineral, leathery, and spicy. In doing so, it just about pulls off 'interesting', but misses the mark on 'wearable'.

The unique, strong mineral and warm spicy accord makes it too distinctive and potentially distracting for an office. It works better for evening dates or formal events where its unusual character can be appreciated rather than overwhelmed.

About

Dark Blue opens with a sharp, almost bitter citrus burst from mandarin, quickly joined by the apricot-like floralcy of osmanthus. As it settles, an unusual, dry immortelle note emerges, spiced up with a hint of warm saffron. The real story here is the base: a prominent mineral aroma gives a cool, almost metallic edge, woven through with the woody, slightly animalic Akigalawood and a subtle leather. It conjures images of ancient, cold stone and desert spice, a scent truly unlike any other.
