Lengling Munich Figolo is an Extrait de Parfum launched in 2020. Figolo opens with Mint and Aldehydes, settles into a heart of Ylang-Ylang and Hedione, and dries down to a base of Cypriol Oil Or Nagarmotha, Musk, Leather, and Cedar. Lengling Munich's Figolo carries an Acquired verdict, a woody-led wear.

Aldehydic mint and ylang over a dense base of patchouli, tobacco, cypriol and leather. Lengling's charmer, and the only one in the range that steps outside the numbered series. Smooth on top, genuinely dark underneath.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Fall Winter
Also Works:
Spring

Patchouli, tobacco, cypriol and leather make a heavy, dry base that wants cold air, while the mint and aldehydes on top keep it wearable on a cool spring evening. High summer flattens the floral half and leaves the tobacco exposed.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Casual Formal
Also Works:
Office

The brand markets it explicitly on sex appeal, and the tobacco-leather base backs that up, so it belongs to evenings out. Close projection after the first two hours keeps it just about workable in an office.

About

Figolo is the outlier in the Lengling range: no number, a black cap and an orange sash where everything else is silver and grey. Ursula Lengling describes it as a collage of the magnetic people the couple have met, and it is built as a two-sided character study, charming on one side and dominant on the other. The charming side opens cold and polished. Mint gives it a green, almost toothpaste-clean lift, aldehydes add a soapy fizz that keeps the first half hour bright, and ylang-ylang with hedione supplies a transparent floral shimmer rather than anything creamy or tropical. Iso E Super and musk sit underneath and push the whole thing outwards. The dominant side is where it earns its reputation. Patchouli and cedarwood arrive early and never leave, tobacco absolute adds a dry cured-leaf richness, and cypriol brings a smoky, rooty, almost oud-adjacent depth. Leather closes it, supple rather than tarry. Performance is solid: seven or eight hours at extrait strength, close to the skin after the first two but persistent. Autumn and winter suit it best, and cool spring evenings work. It is a date and dinner perfume, and it dresses formally without effort. The mint and aldehydes keep it just about office-viable, though the tobacco and leather make it a statement rather than a background.
