Les Parfums de Rosine Vanille Paradoxe is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2019, created by Delphine Lebeau. Vanille Paradoxe opens with Grapefruit, Juniper, and Rosemary, settles into a heart of Angelica, Cedar, Rose, and Cardamom, and dries down to a base of Musk, Vanilla, and Ambroxan. Les Parfums de Rosine's Vanille Paradoxe carries an Acquired verdict, a woody-led wear.

This 'paradoxical' vanilla has split the room: some find it a unique, fresh take on vanilla, while others are left searching for the star note amidst a sharp herbal opening. Definitely not a safe blind buy.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

Declarable allergens

We derive these from the materials behind this fragrance's notes, not from the bottle. Each one is likely, not confirmed. The list is partial - the box can name others.

In standard patch-test panels

  • Geraniol from Rose

Other declarable allergens

  • Synthetic musk Hexamethylindanopyran from Musk
  • Vanillin from Vanilla

The large name is the everyday one. The small name is the INCI form on the box, so you can compare the two. Reactions differ between people. A patch-test panel is not a ranking of risk. How we derive this

About

Vanille Paradoxe kicks off with a bracing, cool blast of juniper, rosemary, and grapefruit, offering an aromatic, almost masculine edge. As it settles, a warm, slightly spicy heart of cardamom and cedar emerges, softened by a subtle rose. The vanilla eventually comes through, a dry, clean vanilla grounded by a musky ambroxan base, less sweet gourmand and more ethereal.
