Snowcake 2013 is a curious beast. It opens with a distinct marzipan and almond sweetness, creating a comforting, dessert-like impression. However, this gourmand core is soon met by a tart, almost fruity sharpness from cassia, preventing it from becoming overly cloying. A soft rose note weaves through the composition, adding a delicate floral touch, while benzoin provides a warm, resinous depth in the dry down, lending a powdery finish.
