Montana Graphite is an Eau de Toilette launched in 2011, created by Nathalie Lorson. Graphite opens with Virginia Cedarwood, Bergamot, Violet Leaf, and Pepper, settles into a heart of Amber, Guaiac Wood, and Geranium, and dries down to a base of Sandalwood, Oakmoss, and Benzoin. Montana's Graphite carries a Statement verdict, a green-led wear.

This cedar bomb from Nathalie Lorson is a cheapie masterpiece for a reason. While its opening can be divisive (some get pickles, others pine), it settles into a comforting, realistic pencil shavings scent that punches well above its price point.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

Spring Fall Winter

A cold-weather scent - best worn in autumn and spring.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Office Casual
Also Works:
Date

Its moderate performance and clean, woody character make it ideal for office and casual wear, as noted by reviewers. The prominent cedar might be a bit too unpretentious for formal events and not invigorating enough for sport.

About

Graphite opens with a sharp, peppery kick, quickly revealing a dominant Virginia cedar note that's both dry and surprisingly fresh, akin to freshly sharpened pencils. Violet leaf adds a subtle green, almost metallic edge, while guaiac wood deepens the woody heart. As it dries down, amber and benzoin warm and smooth the composition, leaving a lingering, slightly creamy and resinous woodiness, anchored by earthy oakmoss and soft sandalwood.
