Oakcha Mangata is an Extrait de Parfum. Mangata opens with Bergamot, Lemon, and Lavender, settles into a heart of Rose, Jasmine, Violet, and Geranium, and dries down to a base of Caraway, Musk, Leather, and Cedar. Oakcha's Mangata carries an Acquired verdict, a floral-led wear.

Lavender and citrus over a floral heart, then a very large base led by leather and oud with spice, moss and resins. A dense, dark and polished scent for evenings. It is Oakcha's take on 51 Pour Homme.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Autumn Winter

Leather, oud, spice and resins are heavy and warm, so cold months suit it best. The lavender and citrus add only a brief freshness.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Formal

Rich and strong, so it fits evenings, events and formal dinners. It is too bold for most offices.

About

Mangata is one of the busiest scents in the Oakcha range. Its page lists twenty base notes alone, so it reads as a layered, aromatic leather rather than a simple cologne. Lavender, lemon and bergamot start it with a sharp, clean lift. A floral heart of rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, violet and geranium follows, adding a smooth, slightly powdery softness. The base is large. Leather and oud lead, with saffron, birch, cinnamon, nutmeg and pink peppers adding smoky spice. Oakmoss, patchouli, labdanum, benzoin, cedar and sandalwood give resin and wood, and musk and cashmeran keep the finish soft and warm. Because so many notes are in play, they blend into one rich, dark, aromatic whole. As an extrait it lasts well and projects with confidence. It suits evenings, cooler weather and smart occasions, for men who like a strong, polished leather. Oakcha no longer sells it, and its page has been removed from oakcha.com; this page records it for owners. Bottom line: a dense leather and oud blend with a fresh lavender and citrus opening.
