About

Night in Cannes is a gourmand that starts with a cool head. Lavender, mint and bergamot open the scent with an aromatic, almost minty freshness, and it feels crisp for the first few minutes. The heart brings the fruit. Sour cherry is the star, tart and slightly syrupy, with jasmine and freesia adding a light floral lift so the cherry does not sit alone. Then the dessert arrives. Tonka bean, vanilla, cacao pod, caramel and praline build a thick, creamy sweetness, helped by benzoin and a milky softness. Sandalwood, leather and cedar sit underneath, which stops the base from turning sticky and gives it a dry, woody finish. As an extrait it lasts for many hours and wraps close around the wearer, with a soft, sweet trail. It is best in autumn and winter, on evenings out and dates, though the fresh opening makes it workable in milder weather too. Oakcha no longer sells it, and its page has been removed from oakcha.com; this page records it for owners. Bottom line: a cherry, vanilla and praline dessert scent with a minty, lavender start.
