Azure Matcha

Azure Matcha follows Montale Blue Matcha closely: a fresh, cooling rush of green matcha tea over zesty lemon, bergamot and Sicilian mandarin, with tart black currant adding a juicy edge. The heart turns earthier and more masculine - black leather and tobacco wrapped in cedar and patchouli leaf, giving it that smooth, slightly smoky depth. The drydown settles into mate, powdery musk and a touch of ambergris. Against the original, the PP take keeps the matcha-citrus opening crisp and the leather-tobacco accord intact, but renders the suede-powder finish a little simpler and shorter, reading marginally more 2D. Blue Matcha was a respectable performer for Montale, and this dupe wears a touch lighter and fades sooner. A versatile, fresh-yet-earthy unisex scent for daytime, the office and casual wear across the warmer seasons.
