Clap II For Men interprets Marc Jacobs Bang Bang, the more refined follow-up to the famously peppery Bang. It opens fresh and aromatic - coriander seed, a lemon-like zip of cardamom and a herbal twist of fennel - before settling into a smooth heart of clary sage and creamy sandalwood with a touch of patchouli. The base leans soft and clean: benzoin, white amber and cashmere musk. Against the original, this Perfume Parlour version captures the elegant, fresh-woody character that made Bang Bang the more versatile of the pair, but renders it a little flatter: the sandalwood lacks the original's rounded creaminess and the musky drydown thins out sooner. Longevity is moderate at three to five hours with projection staying close to the skin after the first hour. It is a clean, sophisticated woody-aromatic that works well in the office and for daily wear across cooler-to-mild seasons - a credible, low-cost route to the Bang Bang signature.
