Perfume Parlour Commiphora Bean is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2016. Commiphora Bean opens with Lavender, settles into a heart of Myrrh, and dries down to a base of Vanilla, Tonka Bean, and Almond. Perfume Parlour's Commiphora Bean carries a Statement verdict, a sweet-led wear.

Commiphora Bean copies Jo Malone's Myrrh & Tonka - the same aromatic lavender top over resinous myrrh and a creamy almond-vanilla-tonka base. The budget version lands the warm, cosy gourmand idea but reads flatter, with the resin less rich and shorter staying power.

About

Commiphora Bean opens aromatic and fresh, with lavender carrying hints of honey and hay - the same opening that lifts Jo Malone's Myrrh & Tonka before it warms. The heart turns rich and balsamic as myrrh takes over, then the base of tonka bean, almond and vanilla brings the creamy, slightly sweet and spicy drydown the original is loved for. Against the Jo Malone the budget take is a little flatter and the resinous myrrh thinner, with sillage that sits closer to the skin where the original is its biggest projector. It remains a cosy, sensual unisex resin-gourmand for cold-weather evenings, dates and snug nights in.
