Fabricant opens with an immediate hit of smoky leather, softened by creamy cashmeran and a dark, slightly bitter black tea, exactly the elegant-yet-potent introduction that defines Byredo Sellier. Tobacco leaf emerges in the heart, lending a warm, faintly sweet roundness, before the base sinks into a resinous, tar-like birch and earthy oakmoss for an almost animalic woodiness. The original is a truly unbridled leather - bold, nuanced and long-lasting; this Perfume Parlour version stays recognisably leathery but renders the smoke flatter and the refined birch-cade depth thinner, with the leather itself pushed to the front. Projection is moderate and longevity sits in the middle band rather than the original's all-day grip. A bold, masculine-leaning leather best worn in cooler months for evenings and dressy occasions.
