Jasmine Aura follows Paco Rabanne's Olympea Parfum, the 2024 parfum-strength flanker praised for its creamy, dreamy floral-vanilla blend. It opens softly aromatic - clary sage and a green whisper lifted by pink pepper - before settling quickly into the heart that gives it its name: a generous jasmine, rounded by orange blossom and a touch of rose oil, white and slightly heady. Where the Rabanne keeps everything silky and seamless, the dupe's florals read a little more linear and less refined, and the transition into the base is blunter. That base is the sweet payoff: vanilla pushed forward, warmed by resinous benzoin and softened with musk, cosy and a little powdery. Jasmine Aura leans sweeter and more straightforwardly gourmand-adjacent than the original's more sophisticated, balanced drydown, trading nuance for easy comfort. It is a romantic, feminine floral suited to dates and evenings across the cooler seasons, with enough lift to carry into spring. Longevity is good for a budget oil but won't match the parfum-strength tenacity of the Rabanne, settling fairly close to the skin after the first couple of hours.
