A budget take on MFK's Gentle Fluidity Silver, Shiny Liquid opens with the original's signature: vibrant juniper berries that conjure a premium gin accord, lifted by a warm dusting of nutmeg. The heart turns gently spicy and clean with coriander and a soft musk before the base settles into clean woods, mild amber and a touch of vanilla - the airy, slightly metallic freshness the original is loved for. Set against the real Gentle Fluidity Silver it reads more two-dimensional, the juniper less crisp-luminous and the musky woods thinner, so it loses some of that refined, almost futuristic clarity. Projection is moderate and turns close after the first hour, with the modest longevity typical of this clean genre. Even so, for the money it captures that smart, fresh-aromatic signature convincingly - a crisp, gin-and-spice freshness that suits the office, daily wear and warm-weather casual outings from spring through autumn, reading as clean, energising and quietly refined.
