World

Perfume Parlour World is an Eau de Parfum launched in 1989. World opens with Ylang-Ylang, Peach, Bergamot, and Lemon, settles into a heart of Jasmine, Iris, Narcissus, and Rose, and dries down to a base of Sandalwood, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, and Amber. Perfume Parlour's World carries a Statement verdict, a woody-led wear.

A budget take on Guerlain Samsara, that creamy sandalwood-and-jasmine oriental classic. World captures the lush jasmine heart and the warm sandalwood-vanilla drydown, but the Mysore-sandalwood richness reads thinner and more synthetic, and it projects more modestly than the original.

About

World opens soft and golden, creamy ylang-ylang and juicy peach over a fresh squeeze of bergamot and lemon. The heart is unmistakably Samsara: an opulent, intensely floral jasmine threaded with powdery iris, narcissus, violet and rose, lush and a little old-world. The drydown is where the original's magic lived, and the dupe leans hard into it: smooth sandalwood wrapped in golden vanilla, with tonka, amber and musk for warmth. Against Guerlain's Samsara, this clone keeps the sandalwood-jasmine signature but renders the sandalwood flatter and more synthetic than the famed Mysore-rich original, so it loses some of that buttery, three-dimensional creaminess. Projection is moderate and longevity runs a few hours of warm floral-woods before settling close to the skin, where the Guerlain famously lingers. As an affordable route into a creamy, sophisticated vintage-style oriental floral, it captures the spirit well for cooler-weather evenings.
