X-Cite Sensible opens with a sparkling burst of lemon and bergamot over aromatic basil, rosemary and a flicker of caraway, faithfully recalling the bright, refined start of Eau Sauvage. The heart is its soul: indolic jasmine and hedione-style radiance woven through soft rose, spicy carnation, powdery orris and earthy coriander and patchouli, with creamy sandalwood smoothing it all. The base settles into a classic chypre of mossy oakmoss, dry vetiver, soft musk and warm amber. As a dupe it captures the citrus-herb-jasmine-moss elegance of this all-time great in outline, though it wears flatter and more linear, the delicate nuance and gentle projection of the genuine article softened to a skin-near presence with moderate longevity.
