Rebel Aromas Defiant Conquest is an Eau de Parfum. Defiant Conquest opens with Citrus and Pepper, settles into a heart of Leather and Lavender, and dries down to a base of Woody and Musk. Rebel Aromas's Defiant Conquest carries an Acquired verdict, a aromatic-led wear.

Defiant Conquest chases Rabanne's Invictus, the marine-woody powerhouse that defined a generation of designer fresh scents. It keeps the citrus-marine opening but skips the soapy grapefruit sparkle of the original, and the leather-woods heart feels heavier and less effervescent than Invictus at its best.

About

Defiant Conquest is Rebel Aromas' answer to Rabanne's Invictus, one of the best-selling fresh-aquatic fragrances of the last decade. The dupe opens with a peppery citrus burst that nods to the original's grapefruit-and-mandarin brightness, though it's a touch more straightforward here without the marine sparkle that made Invictus feel effervescent on skin. Lavender and leather step in for the heart, offering an aromatic, slightly rugged twist rather than Invictus's soapy violet-leaf freshness, while warm woods and musk close things out with a solid but unremarkable drydown. It reads more masculine and grounded than the airy original, and doesn't chase the same laurel-wreath sportiness, but it's a passable everyday fresh scent at a fraction of the price. Longevity sits in the moderate range, fading to a soft musky-woody base within four to five hours rather than the 5-6 hour EDT benchmark most reviewers report for Invictus.
