Extraterrestrial

Extraterrestrial is a looser interpretation of Mugler's cult Alien, one of the most minimalist and polarising amber-florals in modern perfumery, built on just three notes: jasmine sambac, cashmeran and white amber. Rather than replicating that stark simplicity, this dupe opens with a fresh citrus and green apple top that Alien doesn't have, before a jasmine and warm nutmeg heart nods toward the original's radiant floral core. The base of amber and sandalwood echoes Alien's glowing, resinous drydown but in a noticeably softer, more conventional register, lacking the linear intensity and near-metallic solar quality that makes Alien so recognisable from a distance. It reads as an easier-to-wear, friendlier amber-floral rather than a faithful clone, better suited to those who like the concept of Alien but find the real thing too strong. Performance sits well below the original too - Alien is famous for 10+ hour longevity and days-long sillage on fabric, while this version fades to a soft ambery base within a few hours.
