by Aurélien Guichard

Robert Piguet Casbah is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2012, created by Aurélien Guichard. The fragrance opens with Pepper, Angelica, and Nutmeg, settles into a heart of Orris, Incense, and Tobacco, and dries down to a base of Vetiver and Cedar.

Our verdict on Casbah: Acquired

This one's a divisive beast. If you're a hardcore incense fan, you'll likely adore its potent, churchy vibes. For others, it's an acquired taste that might be just too much. Not a crowd-pleaser, but then, who wants to please everyone?

Best Seasons

Best For:
Fall Winter

A cold-weather scent - best worn in winter and autumn.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Formal

Casbah's beastly longevity and sillage, combined with its intensely smoky and spicy profile, make it less suitable for office wear. It truly shines for evening dates or formal events where its commanding presence can be appreciated, while being too heavy for casual or sport settings.

About

Casbah opens with an assertive blast of pepper and nutmeg, softened by a green, slightly herbaceous angelica. This quickly ushers in the true star: copious, smouldering church incense, smoky and resinous, backed by a dry, almost dusty tobacco. Hints of powdery orris root add a cool, refined edge, while the base grounds it with earthy vetiver and robust cedar, leaving a long-lasting impression of sacred smoke and ancient woods.
