Roos & Roos Bel Absinthe is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2022. Bel Absinthe opens with Absinth and Chamomile, settles into a heart of Musk and Sandalwood, and dries down to a base of Patchouli and Amberwood. Roos & Roos's Bel Absinthe carries a Statement verdict, an aromatic-led wear.

A properly botanical wormwood, built by Nicolas Bonneville as a bitter-green herbal opening that melts into creamy sandalwood and an overdosed amber-wood base. Quietly unusual rather than loud, and genuinely wearable all year.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Summer Fall

Wormwood, chamomile and green herbal facets read best in mild weather, while the overdosed amber-wood base gives it enough body to carry into autumn.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Office Casual
Also Works:
Date Formal

Moderate projection and a dry, non-sweet herbal signature make it easy in shared spaces, though it lacks the sweetness or polish most people want for formalwear.

About

Bel Absinthe takes the silvery, faintly medicinal leaf of wormwood and treats it as a garden plant rather than a bar-room cliche. The opening pairs absinthe essence with chamomile, so the bitterness arrives softened by something dry and hay-like, and the whole top accord reads green and aromatic instead of anise-sweet. The heart is where it turns comfortable: a sandalwood-facet woody material the house calls dreamwood gives a velvety, milky roundness, wrapped in white musks that blur the edges rather than adding laundry cleanliness. Underneath, Indonesian patchouli brings earth and a little damp soil, while an amber-wood base note is deliberately overdosed to push the trail outward. That last decision is what stops the fragrance evaporating like most green aromatics do. Performance sits above average for the style, with roughly six to eight hours on skin and a moderate, close-range trail that expands in warmth. It is at its best in spring and early autumn, on a mild day, worn to work or to something low-key in the evening. The lane is French niche botanical rather than gourmand or designer-fresh, and it shares a shelf with the herbal-woody end of houses like Diptyque or Goutal, though Roos & Roos push the woody base harder. A safe blind buy for anyone who likes bitter greens with a soft landing.
