Roos & Roos Woods in Love is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2018. Woods in Love opens with Bergamot, Mandarin, and Orange Blossom, settles into a heart of Iris and Violet, and dries down to a base of Cedar, Vetiver, and Patchouli. Roos & Roos's Woods in Love carries a Favourite verdict, a woody-led wear.

Bergamot and mandarin over a powdery iris and violet heart, resolved on vetiver, patchouli and cedar. A fresh woody built around orris rather than sweetness, and the most quietly versatile scent in the range.

About

Woods in Love does something harder than it sounds: it stays fresh from the first spray to the last hour without ever resorting to the aquatic or the synthetic-clean. The opening is citrus done properly, bergamot bright and slightly bitter, mandarin rounder and sweeter, with orange blossom threading in early to soften the edge between the two. The heart is the interesting part. Iris gives that cool, rooty, faintly powdery quality that reads as expensive in almost any context, and violet adds a sweet green powderiness on top of it, so the floral centre is delicate rather than showy. There is no white flower heft here and no gourmand sweetness at all. The base is dry and grounded: vetiver root essence brings smoky earth and a touch of grapefruit-like bitterness, patchouli deepens it, and cedar supplies the clean pencil-shaving woodiness that the name promises. Expect around six to eight hours with moderate, close-worn projection after the citrus burns off. It is the easiest fragrance Roos & Roos make to wear all year, tilting towards spring and autumn, and it is genuinely unisex. Office, daily wear, dinner, a long day of meetings: it handles all of them. The lane is modern fresh woody niche, in the same conversation as the iris-and-vetiver end of Prada or Chanel's Les Exclusifs, with more powder and less polish.
