Cuir de Printemps

Sentier Cuir de Printemps is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2024. The fragrance opens with Bergamot and White Tea, settles into a heart of Leather and Suede, and dries down to a base of Incense, Amber, and Sandalwood.

Our verdict on Cuir de Printemps: Acquired

A spring-forward leather - bergamot and white tea lifting a leather-suede heart, with sandalwood-amber-incense anchoring the base. The conceit is leather without the cold-weather density: the citrus-tea opening keeps it wearable in lighter conditions where most leathers would feel out of season.

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Fall
Also Works:
Summer Winter

Built as a leather for spring and transitional wear - the citrus-tea opening lifts the leather out of cold-weather territory. Cool summer evenings are workable; winter loses the lift.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Office Date Casual
Also Works:
Formal

The soft-suede register suits casual daily wear and office settings. Date night works for those drawn to leather signatures; formal is fine but a more declarative leather might land better.

About

Cuir de Printemps - 'Spring Leather' - is the lightest of Sentier's premium-tier compositions, designed as a leather worn outside its usual autumn/winter slot. The opening is bergamot and white tea, a luminous citrus-tea pairing that gives the composition its 'printemps' character before the leather emerges. Within the first hour the heart unfolds into leather and suede - the brand emphasises the suede facet specifically, suggesting a softer, more skin-like leather treatment rather than the rougher cuir d'isparahan / Bottega Veneta-style register. The base is incense, amber and sandalwood - identical to Ardent Cherry's base, which suggests a deliberate house signature in this premium tier. Where Ardent Cherry uses that base to frame dark cherry, Cuir de Printemps uses it to anchor the leather without piling more weight on it. The composition reads as a leather for those who find Tom Ford Tuscan Leather or Bottega Veneta too dense, leaning closer to the soft-suede register of Memo Italian Leather, Diptyque Volutes or Hermes Cuir d'Ange. Performance is moderate-to-good for a luxury EDP - leather-and-amber bases tend to last well; expect six to eight hours with restrained sillage in the second half. Genderless by Sentier's house design. Best worn in spring and autumn (the brand-intended slot), with cool summer evenings as a stretch use; winter works but loses the citrus-tea lift. Office and casual settings carry it best; date and formal work for those who like soft-leather signatures.
