Dunes of Maghrib is Sentier's Maghreb-themed premium-tier composition, drawing on the olfactive vocabulary of North Africa - orange blossom, argan oil, tonka, and a warm sandalwood base. The opening is radiant orange blossom lifted by petitgrain and citrus facets, a luminous sunset accord that announces the white-floral-led character. Within the first hour the heart unfolds: tonka bean as the centre of gravity, with lily of the valley adding a green-floral lift and argan introducing a soft, slightly nutty texture that distinguishes this from a generic orange-blossom oriental. Argan oil as a fragrance note is rare - it adds a gentle vegetal-creaminess that pairs naturally with tonka's almond-vanillic warmth. The base is sandalwood, musk and patchouli, an enveloping warm-oriental close that frames the heart without competing with it. The character sits in the warm-oriental register - softer than Maison Francis Kurkdjian Grand Soir, less smoky than Maison Margiela By the Fireplace, more polished than Lattafa Khamrah.
