The Essence Vault Chances - 137 is an Eau de Parfum. Chances - 137 opens with Jasmine and Pink Pepper, settles into a heart of Jasmine and Iris, and dries down to a base of Musk and Patchouli. The Essence Vault's Chances - 137 carries a Statement verdict, a floral-led wear.

No. 137 takes on Chanel's Chance Eau de Parfum, hitting the same pink pepper-jasmine-iris skeleton but with a lighter, more one-dimensional powder that fades well before Chanel's layered chypre-floral finish does.

About

The Essence Vault's No. 137 sets its sights on Chance Eau de Parfum, Chanel's whirlwind of pink pepper, jasmine and powdery iris built over a soft chypre base of patchouli and white musk. The opening captures the brief with a spicy-sparkling pink pepper and jasmine burst that reads instantly recognisable to anyone who knows the original. Chanel's version earns its longevity and depth through a genuinely layered iris-patchouli heart that keeps evolving for hours, holding onto a soft, radiant warmth well into the drydown. No. 137 gets the opening right but the middle and base are noticeably thinner: the iris feels more like a suggestion than a fully realised note, and the patchouli-musk base fades to a light, generic clean-musk smell rather than Chanel's rounder, more textured chypre finish. It is a genuinely pleasant, optimistic floral for daytime wear and captures the spirit of Chance well in the first hour, but it does not sustain the same joyful sophistication once the top notes settle, so reapplication may be needed for it to last through a full day.
