The Essence Vault Ghost - 870 is an Eau de Parfum. Ghost - 870 opens with Hibiscus and Rose, settles into a heart of Musk and Ambrette, and dries down to a base of Musk and Powdery. The Essence Vault's Ghost - 870 carries a Statement verdict, a musky-led wear.

No. 870 captures the soft rose-and-musk delicacy of the classic Ghost fragrance reasonably well up close, but it's noticeably quieter and shorter-lived than the original's mandarin-peach-sandalwood signature.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring
Also Works:
Fall

The soft rose-musk profile is gentle enough for spring and early autumn wear, without the fruity warmth or projection to make an impression in summer heat or winter cold.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Casual
Also Works:
Office Date

Quiet and comfortable enough for the office and daytime casual wear; the romantic rose-musk character also suits a low-key date, but it lacks the presence for formal events.

About

Inspired by the classic Ghost fragrance, No. 870 leans into a gentler, more minimalist reading of the original - romantic rose petals and hibiscus open the scent, followed by a soft, powdery ambrette musk heart. It shares the same delicate, feminine mood as the real Ghost, which built its cult following on being unobtrusive rather than loud. Where it departs from the original is scope: Ghost's signature blend of mandarin, ripe peach, red berries, magnolia and jasmine over a patchouli-sandalwood base is considerably more layered, and its soft musk finish lingers noticeably longer on skin. No. 870 instead offers a single, simplified rose-musk accord that reads pleasant and skin-close but fades to nothing within a few hours, missing the fruity top notes and patchouli warmth entirely. A nice, easy floral musk for everyday wear, though fans of the original's fuller fruity-floral character will find this a much thinner echo.
