Kayali's Vanilla 28 built the brand's reputation on proving a gourmand could be as rich as European perfumery, and this version follows the same triple-vanilla approach: vanilla orchid opens softly, tonka bean and Madagascan vanilla dominate the heart with an almond-like warmth, and brown sugar with patchouli and amber settle the base. The heart is a genuinely close match, warm and dense in a way that captures why the original became a gourmand benchmark. Where it falls short is in the base's ability to keep the composition from going flat or overly simple. Kayali's version balances the sweetness with patchouli and amber for a long, rounded finish; Vanilla 28's base thins out sooner, drifting toward a straightforward sweet-vanilla skin scent rather than holding that layered gourmand depth. Projection is warm and inviting at first, then settles close to the skin within a few hours. For everyday cozy-vanilla wear on a budget it does the job convincingly, but it won't sustain the original's rounded complexity for long.
